Member Advisory Committee
The Cooperative is interested in creating a Member Advisory Committee. The purpose of the committee would be to discuss Cooperative issues and give Cooperative members a stronger voice. The committee would meet quarterly, or more often if need be. If you are interested in learning more about the committee or have any suggestions, please contact our office at 620-356-3356.
From Chief Executive Officer Cletas Rains:
“…I have been trying to get enough member interest in forming an advisory committee, which would consist of members from different parts of our distribution system.
This committee would be volunteers who would be willing to meet with me three or four times per year to discuss various issues concerning the cooperative. My hope is to get feedback from the members who do not serve on the Board of Directors that I could take to the Board for discussion.
The committee would serve strictly as an advisory group, but would give us an opportunity to hear from members throughout the cooperative’s system. Any input, whether it is simply questions as to why we do certain things or to a discussion and explanation about electric rates, could be topics brought by the committee. I believe this committee could be a source to provide questions and issues they hear from their neighbors that we don’t hear that can be discussed, explained and taken back by the committee members to their neighbors.
My hope is that this committee could serve as another means of communicating with the members in an informal setting that could be beneficial to both the cooperative as a whole and to our members.
I would ask that anyone interested in serving on this committee to please contact the office at 888-326-3356. I would be very appreciative to have some interest shown for this program and to have the opportunity to discuss any issues the members may have concerning the cooperative.”
